Very First Ring

The very first ring I ever tried to make using a graphite ring mandrel made by Craig Milliron. The glass of course would not stick to the graphite, so it was a real fire drill chasing it around and around -- the result was this very smooth and pretty but asymmetrical piece, not very comfortable to wear. I had no control over this design at all, and the handle of the mandrel was beginning to smoke :-) so I just slung it into the kiln and decided I needed a new mandrel theory.
