Failed Lattice Ring

The idea didn't seem so bad in the beginning. I would lay down two very thin (stringer) sidewalls for the ring, which might help keep the edges more consistent; then I'd draw a zig zag pattern between them with some multi coloured stringer (green/brown/yellow) and fill in with clear to make a lattice design. Well, a lot of things went wrong. The stringer was a bit too thick to draw a fine design; my hand shook more than once; I got bubbles when encasing it; and so it went. 5 out of 5 for perseverance, 2 out of 5 for results. This is also a big one, size 11 or 12.
